Dr. Lavertu is the Director of Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the Ireland Cancer Center. He graduated from the University of Montreal Medical School in 1976. Dr. Lavertu did his residency training at the University of Montreal in Canada. He has 2 years of extra training in head and neck surgery and oncology, one at the University of Montreal and one at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Dr. Lavertu's expertise is in the evaluation and treatment of tumors of the head and neck, anterior and mid base of skull and thyroid gland. He is recognized in this country for his support for organ preservation strategies in the management of head and neck cancer.
